Educating Alaska’s Farmers and Agricultural Professionals About Sustainable Horticultural Production Techniques and Agricultural Business Practices

This website was created through funding from the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program and a USDA Rural Business Enterprise Grant. It is meant to provide resources to agricultural professionals throughout Alaska and contains information about present and past agricultural research, links to resources on other websites, discussion forums, and forums where agricultural professionals can interact with each other and share information. More significantly, this website provides exclusive access to important training DVDs geared towards agricultural professionals. The training provides a solid foundation of knowledge about season extension and crop production in cold-soils for agricultural professionals. The website is also a useful resource for the general public in regards to accessing information about growing crops in Alaska and includes a second forum where both information and questions can be posted, thereby providing a way for home gardeners and other agricultural enthusiasts to connect with both agricultural professionals and each other.
